About Bright

The electorate of Bright stretches along the southern coastline from Holder and Cecilia streets of Hove to Gulfview and Flaxmill roads in Christies Beach and Christie Downs.

From June 2006, the Electoral Districts Boundaries Commission worked towards the redistribution of the boundaries for the 47 electoral districts of the House of Assembly in the South Australian Parliament.  This has affected the Bright electorate.

As of the next election (scheduled for March 2010), the seat of Bright will gain the suburbs of North Brighton, as well as part of Somerton Park (the boundary will begin from Oaklands Road/Whyte Street and end at, and include, Hallett Cove).

The suburbs of Christie Downs, Lonsdale and O'Sullivan Beach will no longer be in the Bright electorate and will be part of the seat of Reynell.
