Hello! I am the State Member for Bright, and I would like to thank you for taking the time to look at this site. I live in the heart of my electorate, in Brighton, and have done so for five years. I am very much looking forward to running for re-election in March 2010.
This website has been established as another means of communicating with my constituents, as well as informing them of news, issues, events and other items of interest immediately. It also allows my constituents to contact me at any time to discuss issues of concern to them.
Please take some time to familiarise yourself with the website, which provides information about the Bright electorate, as well as useful links to groups and organisations that may be of interest to you.
As your state member of parliament, I am available to advise and assist you on any matter in which I can help, especially those regarding state government responsibilities.
Justice of the Peace services are available at my office Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm.
On Monday the 28th of September I was at the opening of the Hallett Cove Shopping Centre re-development. Premier Mike Rann officiated the event.
Thankyou to all of those who attended the Law and Order forum on the 25th of August. It was a very successful night with many members of the community raising a wide-range of issues relating to Law and Order in the Electorate and across the state.
If you were unable to attend the forum, but would still like to ask me or the Attorney-General a question or want more information on any law and order issues, please contact my office.
In April of this year, Premier Mike Rann announced that the State Government will spend $8 million to upgrade the Hallett Cove and Hallett Cove Beach Stations.
The upgrades will include
-Increased Shelter
-Improved Lighting and CCTV footage
-Realignment of the platforms to reduce the gap between trains and the platforms
-Improved walking and cycling facilities.
The multi-million dollar upgrades will begin in August and should be completed towards the end of the year.
As a part of the 2009 State Budget, South Australian Senior Card holders are eligible for free public transport on Adelaides metropolitan trains, buses and trams from 9:01am to 3pm on weekdays, all day weekends and on public holidays.
Thank you to everyone for your donations of books for the victims of the horrific Victorian bushfires. We recieved approximately 60,000 books, which have been distributed throughout the fire-ravished areas.
Thankyou also to St Vincent De Paul, who kindly donated their time and trucks to help distribute the books to the communities in need.
